Six Month Checkup

Oliver had his 6-month check up and vaccines today. He weighs 18lbs, 2oz, and is 27 1/4 inches tall. His legs are getting soooo chunky, they are adorable!
Even though it may not look like it, he is starting to like his 'real' food!

New Puppy

Meet our new dog, Sheena Is A Punk Rocker. Yes, like the Ramones song. 'Sheena' for short, of course. (NOT She-Ra, the Princess of Power.)

She is a Rottweiler-Boxer mix, although it's hard to see the Rott in her. She is 10 months old. She has lived on a farm all her life, so we are working hard to housetrain her. She has only had a couple accidents in the house since Saturday, so that's not bad! She's a real sweetie. She is for some reason incredibly attached to me, and if I'm home but in the other room she whines and cries until I return. She will also throw a fit if she's in the backyard by herself. We're hoping that with time she'll be more comfortable here and will be okay on her own for awhile!
She likes Oliver and loves giving him kisses - which he is started to get annoyed by already. We're sure they will grow up to be best friends!

Sleeping Baby

There are few things cuter than a baby sleeping - especially when he's sleeping with his bum up in the air!!

Six Months!

Today is a big day for not only Oliver, but me too! During my pregnancy I set a couple goals for myself - to breastfeed for at least six months, and to lose all my pregnancy weight plus four pounds by six months. And I gained a LOT during my pregnancy!
After a rough first two months, we finally got breastfeeding figured out and it's still going great!
And, this morning I stepped on the scale and I'm right at my goal weight!! Yay!
Oliver is crawling up a storm, he is getting so quick! He is already pulling himself up, usually onto our legs but sometimes on the couch or his musical table (a fun toy from Aunt Anna). He hasn't started to really cruise yet but I'm sure that is coming. I'm guessing that he'll be walking by 10 months.
During one of the super-warm days last week we spent some time at the park next door:

We can't wait for more warm weather!

Riding!

Oliver looooves his new motorcycle. I'm so amazed at how well he just sits on it and rides! Sorry, I haven't figured out how to turn it the right way yet. I'll keep working on that.

It's Official!

Hide the powercords - Oli is crawling! And of course he's already going for all the things he's not supposed to play with. Powercords, remotes, books, magazines, my paperwork....you know, all the fun stuff!

He has also managed to pull himself up to standing a few times, using my or Ian's leg. He's growing so fast!! Granna says he'll be walking before he's one, I think I agree with her.

Still working on it...

Oliver has two more weeks to prove me right - I think he'll be crawling by six months. He's definitely getting better, but he's still technically 'scooting'. And fast. I can't turn my back on him for a second now. He has figured out that power cords, or anything plugged in, are way more fun than all his toys. He goes straight for his baby monitor in his room, and for the tv cords in the living room. And for some reason he's fascinated with the legs on his jumperoo. We're going to be in trouble when he really starts crawling!
